Folklorama 2018 is on the horizon folks and this year promises to be another fantastic array of cultural extravagnza. The Caribbean Pavilion will be the first week and the old standbys will be there - the limbo dance, calypso, steel band and many more attractions. Make sure you join the fun and tell your friends about it too. It's all happening at the Franco-Manitobain Cultural Centre
Uzoma Asagwara, local activist and member of the Queer People of Colour, is the proud winner of the 2018 Wade Kojo Williams Award for Human Rights. 1 packet of fast acting yeast
1 Tbsp of sugar
1 cup of warm water
Mix the above and leave it for 5 min. Add 1/2 cup of oil
Beat in 1 egg
Add 1 more cup of water mix it well add 1/2 tsp salt & 1/2 cup of sugar
Add flour to the mixture one cup at a time till you have a soft dough (approximately 7 cups)
Knead. Cover with damp tea towel and let it rise till double it’s size. (1 hr)
Knead to it’s original size and shape it into a size you desire. For me I like it the size of a large egg. Roll in bread crumbs and put in a cookie sheet. Let it rise for 45 minute. It rises faster in a warm kitchen.
Bake in a 350 preheated oven
